Coaching and consulting are two distinct, and at times overlapping, approaches that we use to help you achieve your goals, yet there are some fundamental differences between them.

Coaching involves working with you, the person, to identify and achieve your personal and professional goals. As your coach, we provide guidance and support and ultimately you are responsible for taking action. This is an important distinction of coaching – you are the one making things happen. This is what creates lasting change. If we come in and do everything for you (as consultants do), the changes don’t stick because when the consultant leaves everything goes with them.

 As your coach we serve as your guide, we ask questions, provide feedback, and offer insights to help you clarify your goals, identify obstacles and develop strategies for working through them. The focus is on building your capacity for self-awareness, self-discovery, and self-improvement. Things like creating and clarifying your vision, helping you craft a path to bring your vision to life, and working through difficulties you encounter along the way are what coaching is about. Coaching is about your growth, now and in the future.
